1. Introduction
1.1 About this report
This report accompanies the Evaluation of the Accreditation Framework for the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice. It provides individual reports of the case studies that were conducted as part of the evaluation.
Case studies were conducted with 12 information and advice providers across Scotland. Of these, nine organisations had been through the audit process for the National Standards (one had given up accreditation and one was not yet fully accredited) and three had shown interest in the Standards by attending some training but had not taken a decision to undergo audit.
The case studies explore the contribution adopting the National Standards has made to improving the quality of services, and any added value accreditation has offered.
Case study interviews were carried out in January 2008. In addition to gaining the perceptions of staff and members of the governing body, where appropriate, we spoke to other relevant stakeholders such as funders.
The views reported are based on the perceptions of those interviewed. In some cases, procedures may have changed or been amended since the agency was last involved in issues relating to the National Standards. We have not sought to correct or update this information since this is the perception held by those who participated in the study.
