(5) Scotland Total does not match the sum of weapon types as, due to the computer system used, Tayside police could not provide a breakdown by type of weapon. However, Tayside's total figures for firearms possessed (14,680) and authorised to be purchased/acquired (1,520) are included in the Scottish totals shown above.
