Interface with other regimes

43. Some principles can be established for when other legislation may apply:

  • When damage or imminent threats fall within the scope of the Regulations, the Regulations must be applied (because they place direct duties on operators to prevent and remedy damage).
  • Other legislation remains in place to address any damage that falls outside the scope of the Regulations.
