THE WAY AHEAD - IMPROVING OUTCOMES FOR INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES

IMPROVING OUTCOMES FOR INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES FLOW CHART

Key for flow chartHaving reflected on the national context and work in progress in each of the Change Programmes, and having discussed with key stakeholders, the 5 Changing Lives Change Programmes are focusing on delivering a number of key strategic pieces of work which will be published over the course of 2008.

The key aspiration of Changing Lives is to improve outcomes for individuals and communities. To do this we need to: build the capacity to deliver personalised services; and develop a confident, competent, valued workforce. The diagram above shows how the 'core products' being worked on by the Change Programmes are intended to support this approach.

This approach reflects the intention of the 5 Change Programmes to focus on national and strategic work to help support local delivery. It remains the case that the Changing Lives agenda needs to be recognised and owned at local level, with service providers at all levels taking responsibility for making the aspirations of Changing Lives a reality.

In addition to what appears here, the Change Programmes and Scottish Government officials from the Workforce and Capacity Issues Division have been engaged in a range of other activities which contribute to the Changing Lives agenda.
