The principles of charging for 2010-14 form part of the wider Strategic Review of Charges (SRC) process which is commissioned by Scottish Ministers and led by the Water Industry Commission for Scotland (the Commission). The Scottish Government Health Workforce Directorate is conducting a review of how consultants are recruited. To inform this review research into best contemporary recruitment practice for senior medical and dental recruitment was undertaken between May to September 2007. Based on the findings of this research three options for improvements to the appointment of medical and dental consultants were identified. Health Workforce Directorate are seeking comments on these three options.
