This report presents some of the main initial findings of a focus on Scotland’s families in the Second Survey of the Millennium Cohort Study (MCS2) . It is intended to provide an introduction to potential users of the survey and to stimulate further in-depth and longitudinal analysis.

This Report takes three distinctive differences in the Scotland data (children's cognitive scores, family poverty and incidents of breastfeeding) and provides further multivariate analysis to examine whether the distinctive results are due to differences in the characteristics of MCS families in Scotland and the rest of the UK.
