Notes: Prior to 2007, table includes estimates wherever local authorities were not able to provide data.
Figures for 2006 are revised.
In 2005 there were 27 children with unknown gender or age. Consequently the 'all people' total does not equal the sum of the total boys and girls.
In years 2000 - 2004 children with unreported gender or age were allocated to a group rather than being presented as 'unknown'. For this reason, some totals do not exactly equal the sum of their component parts due to the effects of rounding.
Eilean Siar did not provide this information for 2007. There were no children with a current series of short term placements in this local authority on 31st March 06, so it is assumed that there were also no children in this group in 2007.
