9. DE-DESIGNATION
When new designations are made, it also presents an opportunity to review existing designations. For example, there may be designated shellfish waters currently in existence which have no shellfish production, and which are unlikely to be used for production in the future The Scottish Government would be grateful for information on such areas, and for views on whether they may be considered for de-designation. It should be noted that if any de-designations are made, this will on no account lead, either directly or indirectly, to increased pollution of such waters.
