Quality of care and treatment
Standard 12
You receive high quality, safe and effective care and treatment which reflects up-to-date knowledge, relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
1 Your care and treatment and its quality benefit from the regular review of available evidence and best practice guidance and the service measures and reviews its performance of treatment and care.
2 The service uses the results of the reviews to help it decide on any changes needed to improve the standards of treatment and care that you receive.
3 All healthcare staff are involved in the reviews and the development of improvements to the service. You can ask for and get information about the review process.
4 The care and treatment you receive from the service takes account of all relevant NHS Quality Improvement Scotland standards and reflects good practice based on relevant research studies, audit reports, standards, guidelines and evidence based treatments.
5 You know that the service has a quality assurance and risk management programme to ensure good care and your safety.
