a) Category A -schemes were established as very recent scheme with large amounts of information available and there was normally enough information to be used to complete the database, without further study.
b) Category B - schemes with some information and a reasonable likelihood of protecting properties. More detailed studies were undertaken on the majority of these schemes.
c) Category C - little or no information (usually name and location only). The location was confirmed and any information available entered into the database.
d) Category D - scheme name only. For these schemes the existence of the scheme was confirmed with the local authority and this information entered into the database.
