This research was commissioned by the Scottish Executive. We would like to thank a number of people for their contributions to this research project; staff and stakeholders who took part in the in-depth interviews including representatives from the Scottish Executive, Napier University's International Teledemocracy Centre ( ITC) and members of six community councils (Bannockburn, Cambusbarron, Strathfillan, Thornhill & Blairdrummond, Drymen and Torbrex), Stirling Assembly, the Association of Community Councils for the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park area and the Association of Scottish Community Councils.

Sincere thanks also to the general public users and non-users of the website for the readiness and frankness with which they expressed their views.
