1. Introduction
1.1 This bulletin presents key statistics on clients assisted through Supporting People funding during 2005-06. Summary information has been provided at both national and local authority level.
1.2 This is the third year for which data have been collected and it is intended to simplify the process for 2006-07 in order to improve data quality and reduce burden on data providers. In the longer term, this data collection is being reviewed with the aim of moving to a more outcome focussed approach.
1.3 Please exercise caution when comparing 2004-05 data with 2005-06 data as some element of change may be due to changes in recording and collection methods.
Note: Changes should be interpreted with caution as they may be due to changes in data collection methods rather than actual changes in client numbers. See notes to tables for further details.
