Notes- (n/a - Information not available from Local Authority)
1. The numbers of adults as a percentage of all adults known to a local authority are estimates as the figures may not have come from the same base of individuals.
2. Care should be taken when comparing figures between years. Differences between these figures can be partially accounted for by improvements in data collection techniques as well as actual changes in the numbers known to authorities.
3. Argyll & Bute, East Dunbartonshire, Inverclyde and Renfrewshire reported better data collection methods as contributing to the change in their figures between 2005 and 2006. (East Dunbartonshire also reported a real drop in the number of people receiving the service).
4. Some figures have not been displayed (*) for individual local authorities to maintain confidentiality.
