We would like to acknowledge the support and guidance we received in the preparation of this report from the Scottish Executive, in particular Jonathan Wright of the Scottish Executive Social Research Group and Doug Anthoney who, in the early stages of the work, was seconded to the Executive from the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.
