1 INTRODUCTION
The Office of Chief Researcher conducted the SE Travel Survey 2006 on behalf of the Travel Plan Working Group. The aim of this research was to collect information about how SE employees travel to work and on business, in order to inform the new revision of the SE Travel Plan, which aims to promote more sustainable travel choices for SE employees. Follow up discussion groups were also conducted to explore in more depth the motivations, attitudes and influences that affect the travel choices of a sample of respondents from the Travel Survey.
The following report highlights the main findings from this work, including current commuting patterns, the differences in attitudes, motivations and demographic profiles of car users and non car users, patterns of travel between SE buildings and to London, business travel booking methods, and awareness of the Travel Plan and various SE travel initiatives.
