3. CONSULTATION

Within Government

10. In preparing to transpose the Directive the Scottish Executive has consulted DEFRA, DTI, Cabinet Office, HM Treasury, SEPA, SNH, COSLA, teams of the Scottish Executive responsible for the policies affected ( ERAD, Justice, etc).

Public consultation

11. We are consulting extensively as listed in Appendix 3 to the public consultation document dated December 2006. See also 'Sectors and groups affected' at page 59 below. The Consultation Document makes clear that it takes the transposition as far as possible at present and that stakeholders' input is needed to consider further the policies and transposition arrangements.

12. The RIA similarly goes as far as possible in its process and content but it would be helpful to have from stakeholders information on Scottish experience and more Scottish data to focus the RIA more precisely.
