Scottish Transport Statistics: No 25 - 2006 Edition

Errors in the Previous Edition

This list covers errors which occurred in the preparation of the tables or the commentary in "Scottish Transport Statistics". It does not include cases where the statistics now published differ from those in the previous edition, because they have been revised by whoever supplied the figures. Such revisions could occur following more information becoming available, or an improvement in estimation methodology, or the correction of errors in the supplier's own systems. In such cases, the revisions may be mentioned in the text or a footnote to the relevant table, if they are large enough to warrant this.

We apologise for the following errors, which we have found in the previous edition:

  • Table 8.16: The total numbers of stations for the years from 1994-95 to 1999-00 were wrong: they differed slightly from the sums of the numbers of "passenger and parcel" and "freight" stations (those numbers were correct).
  • Table 9.3(b): The figures for the number of foreign airports and routes in 2004 were wrong.
  • Table 10.8: The "Asia" part of the table did not show all the countries that should have appeared there, with the result that the sums of the figures for the individual countries (and "other countries") were slightly less than the "All Asia" totals for "Other General Traffic", "Container Traffic" and "All Traffic" (which were correct).

The tables in this edition include corrected figures, if they are time-series tables which include years for which the previous edition's figures were wrong.

Any problems or inconveniences resulting from these errors are regretted.
