East Renfrewshire, Scottish Borders and North Lanarkshire did not provide information in time for inclusion. 2004-05 figures for these authorities have been incorporated into this table and do not include young people aged 18-21. The numbers of young people aged under 18 are therefore best understood as estimates and the number of young people aged 18-21 is an undercount.
A child may start to be looked after more than once during the year and will be counted once for each episode of care beginning.
