1. "Large urban areas" are settlements of at least 125,000 people. These are around, but not the same as, Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
"Other urban areas" are other settlements of 10,000 or more.
"Accessible small towns" are settlements of between 3,000 and 9,999 people, which are within 30 minutes drive of a settlement of 10,000 or more.
"Remote small towns" are settlements of between 3,000 and 9,999 people, which are not within 30 minutes drive of a settlement of 10,000 or more.
"Accessible rural areas" are settlements of fewer than 3,000 people, which are within 30 minutes drive of a settlement of 10,000 or more.
"Remote rural areas" are settlements of fewer than 3,000 people, which are not within 30 minutes drive of a settlement of 10,000 or more.
2. Excludes households where an estimate for fuel poverty cannot be derived
