Same as I've said before, this will promote healthy living in schools and make pupils feel better and they will be able to concentrate more with the healthy food they are getting so they will do better in their work. This is another advantage!

They should provide healthu meals for pupils of course, but there should be somewere in the school were you can buy sweets, crisps, chocolate and fizzy juice.

BECAUSE EVERYBODY WILL BE GOOD ON THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE AND THEIR WILL BE NO 1 EATING FATTY FOODS

yes but making apsolutely everythings in school is a bit too far , they should leave some things like chips etc even if its just on certain days.

Yes,as they have to pass this message on to the future generation to put a stop to obesity and chemically enhansed foodstufs.

it will reduce the number of people becoming obese in later life if they are trained to eat healthily and have a healthy lifestyle from an early age

MSPs should get off there chairs and get out there to raise awareness of how important it is to be healthy.Around 1/2 of the msps are are slightly over weight, thats not exactly setting a good example is it? Come on scotland get your act together. Get healthy or face the consequences.

Advertisements suited for children/youths would encourage healthy eating.

The MSP's should be encouraging healthy meals and a healthy environment as much as they can so that pupils have a healthier and better future.

Be less fat kids they would be young... healthy... and fit!!!

Healthy eating can make a persons life so much better

Healthy eating should always be encouraged in and out of schools, takes time to change dietry habits but offering new and other foods could help and it's msp's that people look up to then lets start with them to help.

Ministers should care about the adults of the future of scotland. MAKE IT HEALTHIER!!!!!!!!!

if they want, i think pe (physical education) is more important, it stops when you go into 5th year unless you take it as a subject (higher, int2 csla) and i know alot of people would like to do it as core pe instead as an actual qualification. im going into 5th year and although im doing higher pe i would like to do core pe because we all have a laugh at it while doing excercise at the same time. we were talking about this before the exams and everybody in my class agrees

why not have healthy foods? there good and some R at least good tasting.

aye they should

SO MORE CHILDREN ARE HEALTHY X

If they encouraged this more I think that more schools would have healthier meals available.

but only to a certain degree. for example fizzy drinks should NOT be diet, because these drinks have so many chemicals that are even worse for kids than sugar.

i think the government should pay for all the healthy meals being provided at the schools. this will then encourage it more

they should lead us to a healthy environment

if there isnt alot people telling them personally they wont feel encouraged to eat healthy.

because everyone deserves to live a healthy and happy life, and kids should learn that from a young age.

yes i think they should but if kids wont eat it what the going to do force feed us!!!!sorry but we really dont want 2 be forced fed

It couldnt hurt. Might benefit a few people. Should show young people what could happen if they keep eating unhealthily (diabetes, heart disease, etc.)

This is an area where the Scottich Ministers have to put more effort into.

Yes but it is a little drastic to cut out all unhealthy foods. An equal balance so pupils can make up there own mind.

It would be good.

To be honest I personally donÆt feel the Scottish MP's are doing enough in targeting all health issues and the environment! They need to learn that saying that a new scheme will be produced is not enough, this is a real issues in which people need educating on, so they need to do what they are paid to do and answer the peoples calls regarding healthy eating and health issues!

Because somme schools do not provide healthy food and just eat junk foods.

Again, with the encouragement of healthy eating and a healthy environment, pupils are most likely to eat more healthily.

Yeah but dont get rid of all unhealthy things, let us have a choice. especially cos most of the heathy things r disgusting. REALLY disgusting.

encouraging children to eat and drink healthily will help them in future, and thats what schools do,they "help us in the future"

being healthy is very important

defenatly because they always go on about healthy eating and sports

cause we would have a healthy diet

Because they should.

they should but their not going to because they dont really care about school meals

THIS WOULD SAVE THEM PUTING OUT MONEY ON HEALTH CARE WHEN THE CHILDREN BECOME UNFIT

Getting school children involved and making them aware of the major issues going on the rest of the county is vital. Healthy eating will only be effectively encouraged if done so at an early and impressionable age.

Scotland has very high levels of heart diease and stroke as many people have unhealthy lifestyles which increase their risk.If schools encouraged healthier living this could improve pupils diets etc and mean that they are less likely to suffer from many of these related diseases in the future.

so we arent fat

It will be good to be encouraged to be healthy, if they tell children what might happen if they are not healthy then maybe they will think about how they eat and how the live more.

yes i think so as you want scotland to have healthy children and teenagers(i think). you want us to be as fit as possible as then our lives will probally be longer. but you dont want us to be just allowed healthy food we should get a choice!!!!

yes but i do not think that schools should make people eat healthy

yes because if the school is healthy and stuff poeple might be happier

Yes because it's healthier and there wont be so many obese school kids.

Lots of children are unhealthy and stuff themselves with too much sweets. Encouraging healthy eating might solve this problem

Yes I think they should because we're the next generation

yes because if the [msps]whant children to be healthy then they will stop young people having heart diseases at very young ages

Yes because it will encourage more people to be healthy

They should try there best to encourage children in the school to eat healthy food and and cut down on the fatty foods

when you are older you may get bullied about your weight

yes because it will stop you getten big and fat

yes because everyone would be healthy but it would not be fare on the people who dont like healthy eating and would prefare to eat non healthy foods.

because if u want eat unheathy u should be intitel

if you eat healthy, you won't turn out obese

That's the way it should be. Scotland has gone too long being unhealthy, it's become the norm. The MSPs should say that it's the best way to live, because it is! They should be a good example and get fit. The environment is very important too. Every step against global warming counts.

definitely we'd all live longer

They are the people who can actually make a difference.

To make people live a healthy life style.

SO THAT CHILDEREN CAN AVOID HEALTH PROBLEMS IN LATER LIFE

because people are complaining about children getting to fat

It has been proven in several studies that a healthier diet improves concentration and behaviour in the classroom

i think they should cause it will affect a number of people bt you shouldnt stop people from eating unheathly things if they dont wont to.

if they encourage good food there more likely to want it and eat it

Some schools do not promote healthy eating enough and I think it needs to be encouraged more.

Healthy foods, especially with Scotlands high obesity rate, are to be encouraged.

yes this might help pupils pluss parent to eat healthy and to encourage them to eat healthy

because people are complaining about the unhealthy eating so if they did more then schools will be more aware

They complain that children are to fat so the should set an example by promiting healthy eating and some of them should go on a diet to.

It's Better To Live In A Healthy Invironment Than An Unhealthy One And More Healthy Meal's Would Make Kids Less Fat.

they should encourage healthy meals but not force them on people

definitley the more people that promote healthy eating will make it much higher on the political agenda for our MSPs

because healthy foods can be enjoyable as much as jonk food can so why not encourage us to eat health cause it as no harm.

Yes... BUT NOT HALF-HEARTEDLY!

they should help encourage healthy eating in schools if they want to help the children in this country have healtier lives

it should encouraged more

Nothing gets done without hard work and they should stive to make scotland healthier for not just children but adults aswell.

They should encourage it but they shouldn't force any child to do anything.for example-they shouldn't only offer healthy food!

Yes the should encourage us to be more healthy as it will improve many peoples way of life and the environment will also benefit !

Wellm i think that goes without saying !!!

yes because we all need a healthy diet we should all be healthy and active .and if we don't eat healthy at home .then it's good that we have to eat healthy at school

because britain would be a healthy place

yes because it is bettter for you.

because it is good for you.

I think msps should but I also think that on special occasions (such as christmas) the pupils should be allowed some unhealthy food

so it makes the world a beter place

i don't mind some healthy things but i wouldn't like everything to be healthy some sweet things are o.k

They should organise visits to schools for people to talk about keeping fit and eating healthily.

If people are growing up and learning in a healthy living enviroment then they're more likely to take notice of this and adapt more easily to a healthy lifestyle than having lived an unhealthy lifestyle then then all of sudden having to change to a healthy lifestyle which would be very hard. This will also benefit young people in the long run as they're less likely to have health problems later in life.

A goood healthy diet and an atmosphere to match mean people feel better, and can achive their best.

yes because more children are dying because of obesity but that doesnt mean to empty the school and replace it with nothing but healthy food

it will make the gomerment come of our backs a little by saying child hood obisity if the goverment actually done something to help obice peole lose waight and become helther not as meany people would be obise

Negative

It is up to the individual pupils. If they are in secondary schools then they are old enough to know what they want, there not kids!It is not up them, it is up to the students what they wish to eat. It is their lifes after all.

You cant turn pupils into health freaks.

We do not all want to become health freaks in scotland. The attitude the scottish executive has on teenagers bad diets is a reason why they become anorexics, i think they should know that point of view.

We do not want to become health freeks in scotland do we. With all these Government statistics about obese kids, no wonder there is so many anorexic teenagers basically killing themselves through this terrible illness.

They should try to make sure that healthy options are avaliable, but they should again as i mentioned still have not so healthy food and drinks. You cannot treat scottish school children like babies telling them what and what not to eat.

the scottish executive are putting their nose into something which does not concern them. They have a bad attitude about "fat" people as they would like to call them. No wonder there are soo many anorexics it is the scottish executives fault for most of the teenage anorexics in this country because they say that too many young people are "fat". So what if they are overweight, everyone comes in all different shapes and sizes.

I am not bothered. I know what is good for me, and I don't need anyone to tell me.

You do not want us to be health freaks

We do not want to turn into health freaks in scotland.

HARLEY ANYBUDY EAT SCHOOL MEAL BECAUSE THEY R MINGING

I think it should be up to the schools if they want to go healthy and they will have to suffer if they dont.

you don't need to have healthy meals all the time

I dont think so.

No because some schools might not have enough money to spend on extra food

No. It is up to the pupils if they want to eat or drink healthily. The MSPs have nothing to do with them or thier life so they should just leave them to it. Leave them to do what they want to do, not what the MSPs want them to do.

it costs money money that should be spent on education

because not all people want to be healthy and should be able to eat what they like.

Each school is equally as important as the next. All schools should have the choice whether they want to promote healthy living or just stick to the burger menu.

Uncategorised

they dont do asnything right now

My school started healthy food and drinks, but the only drinks now available are diet drinks. i think the diet fizzy juice is no better than the normal soft drinks as it has sweetners and other stuff that isnt good for you in it. So it depends what kind 'healty eating' they promote.

As in teh big picture we can see that schools cannot gove us the best healthiest meals without the governmenst funding, due to the government funding the schools.

av never seen an msp in ma skool so no reely

this country is the most unhealthy in europe give us some pride

Scottland is one of the counties with the highest obesity.

most of the food at this school i like .

THATS HERE JOB

Because they allways concentrate on other uninportant things

don't know

I think that this has been done well within schools

some of the schools

i don't know

But dont take it to far like your school.

I think this because our country has a high rate of obeisity in young children because of what their parents give them to eat. Some young people are also very unfit which can be caused by no excercise and unhealthy eating.

I feel that it is no business of them to interfere.

It should not be up to them.

It shouldnt be their job to decide that. They put there nose into too much things and ruin scotland.

They in my opinion should keep there nose out of business like this.
