ANNEX 2: INFORMAL CONSULTATION TELEPHONE INTERVIEW SCHEDULE

1. What do you understand the aims of the informal consultation to be?

2. Did you feel that your participation contributed to these aims?

In which way? Why not? To what extent?

3. Thinking about the actual approach adopted by the Scottish Executive - ie. one-to-one discussions, were there benefits in this approach? Any problems?

4. Could the Scottish Executive have achieved the aims of the consultation in a better way?

5. Did your participation add value in any other ways? Were there other benefits?

6. What would the Scottish Executive have taken away from their meeting with you?

7. What did you take away from the meeting?

8. Did you attend one of the Best Value seminars at the end of September/beginning of October?

9. If so, to what extent do you think that your previous involvement at the planning stage helped to shape the approach taken at the seminar?

10. Did any particular issue emerge at the seminar which you had not covered in your informal meeting?

11. Any other points you wish to make regarding your involvement in the informal dialogue stage?
