Form and Format

33. Regulation 6 allows the applicant to be given the information available in a particular form or format unless there is another reasonable approach to supplying the information. A Scottish public authority should be helpful, as far as is reasonable, taking into account that, for example, some IT users may not be able to read attachments in certain formats and that some members of the public may prefer paper to electronic copies.

34. The Regulations do not require provision of information in the form of a summary or digest; and Scottish public authorities need not carry out analysis and presentation that applicants could do for themselves. However, if a request includes a request for a summary, an authority may provide one if it is more practical than, say, providing masses of data.
