Footnotes

  1. 2004 and 2005 (up to March) data was used to form the original SHS sample of which TLS users could be extracted
  2. People who had used the Traveline Scotland website were included from the 2005 Ptplan Scottish Household Survey question. This code was not included in previous Scottish Household Survey questionnaires.
  3. The original sample, drawn from the 2004 and 2005 (up to March) Scottish Household Survey is representative of the Scottish population and contains non- TLS users.
  4. The responses to each mode of transport are exclusive of one another
  5. The SHS question is slightly different - asking about use of "your local bus service"
  6. The figure includes the most frequently used modes of transport as identified in chapter three and the four types of journey about which respondents most commonly requested information from Traveline Scotland. More information for other journey types and other forms of transport can be found in appendix B (questionnaire) and D (topline results).
  7. 1% of all respondents preferred the text messaging service. This was a relatively new service at the time of the survey. It provides details of the next few buses due at that stop.
  8. The first of these new services is fare information using the internet journey planner. The second is bus times for any bus stop in Scotland using text messaging.
