Appendix 1: Strengths of Streetsense
- Easy to use
- Photo cards are particularly useful for discussion work
- Excellent resource
- Can be used as a stand alone or integrated with others
- Children enjoy the layout of the worksheets and are eager to participate in activities
- Staff using level A report that the computer programme is very useful and enjoyable for the children
- I envisage it, along with the JRSO programme, being the main thrust for our road safety programme
- We based our road safety programme on ideas and lessons suggested in Streetsense
- Very organised programme which provides a good focus
- Streetsense is used from P1-7 as an integral part of our citizenship, PSD and health education programme

- The layout is easy to organise for dividing up resources/ worksheets/ teachers' information to distribute to class teachers

- Planning route to school in P7 is excellent
- One teacher commented that the road safety aspects were particularly informative for herself
- Photocopies of the resource are compiled by the council road safety department
- Clear and relevant lesson plans and worksheets
