2.1 What is peer education?
There is a range of understandings of peer education.
A useful definition is provided by the NHS Health Development Agency, which has been involved in peer education projects in social education.
In simple terms, peer education is young people imparting information to others of a similar age. Peer education approaches can be adopted for a range of issues, including bullying, drugs education and sex education 3.
