Other Issues
10. Other issues noted by respondents included the need for additional duties and responsibilities to be matched by adequate funding, clarification of the status of Hopetoun Bank boundary and issues regarding the interim scheme for the National Park.
11. The issue of boundaries in Loch Etive was raised and further contact with relevant local authorities confirmed the view that this should be resolved through changes in the northern section of Loch Etive to reallocate the appropriately defined area to Highland Council.
12. One respondent noted surprise that there was no reference to climate change given the documented rise in sea-levels and the dramatic impact that even small alterations in sea-level can have on the coast. As this could significantly alter the median lines proposed by the draft Statutory Instrument, mechanisms may need to be in place to allow this issue to be addressed in future.
13. The consultation paper Defining Marine Boundaries for Fish Farming is available on the Scottish Executive website at www.scotland.gov.uk/planning or by contacting Scott Elliott on 0131 244 7064.
