C.2. IN-SITU APPLIED PIPE COATINGS
Currently, for the in situ application of epoxy resin, contractors must refer to the "In-Situ Epoxy Resin Lining - Operational Requirements and Code of Practice" 3rd Edition - ISBN 1-898920 45 1, and, for the in-situ application of rapid-setting polymeric linings, contractors must refer to the "In-Situ Rapid-Setting Polymeric Lining - Operational Guidance and Code of Practice" - ISBN 0-9539278-0-6.
However, Regulation 27 Letter 2/2005 gave notice under Regulation 27(10)(b ) of Scottish Ministers' intention to modify the conditions of approval. This modification takes effect from 1st April 2007. The effect of the modification will be to require Scottish Water and lining contractors to adhere to the requirements of "In-situ Resin Coating of Water Mains Operational Requirements".
Appointed organisations to accredit resin lining contractors and equipments and to provide training to lining operatives and Utility Representatives, are encouraged to refer to the new documents during training.
C.2.1. Coatings based on epoxy resins
These products must be applied by a certified contractor (See appendix 4 B) who has fulfilled the requirements for applying a particular coating (lining) in accordance with the operational requirements set out in "In-situ Epoxy Resin Lining - Operational Requirements and Code of Practice - 3rd edition ( ISBN 1-898920-45-1), published in 2001 by WRc.

C.2.2. Coatings based on polyurethane
These products must be applied by a certified contractor (See appendix 4 B) who has fulfilled the requirements for applying a particular fast setting polymeric material in line with the requirements of In Situ Rapid-Setting Polymeric Lining. Operational Guidelines and Code of Practice ( ISBN No. 0-9539278-0-6) published in October 2000.
