Note 1. We are aware that the data analysed did not include all units in Scotland since some returns were received after the cut-off date agreed with the SEHD. This affected the data from 3 Health Boards and four independent hospitals. Also in the absence of a national register of all endoscopy units we are unable to estimate the completeness of the returns received by the due date.
Note 2. The data on reviewers' profession/post were derived from data held centrally based on the name of the reviewer as entered on the dataset. Many of these reviewers are known to HPS and have assisted with previous reviews of decontamination practice.
