10. Voluntary Assistance (Tables 69 and 70)
10.1 Information on Voluntary Assistance ( VA) was collected for the first time in 2004-05.
10.2 There were a total of 796 individuals receiving voluntary assistance in 2004-05, equivalent to 2.2 individuals per 10,000 population. The majority of individuals were male (90 per cent).
10.3 As at 31 March 2005, 251 individuals were receiving voluntary assistance, equivalent to 0.7 individuals per 10,000 population.
