11 New derelict or urban vacant sites

11.1 Table 22 shows the area and number of distinct new sites, which have been identified as vacant or derelict since the last survey was conducted. There were 331 hectares (133 sites) of newly identified derelict land since the previous survey. Of these, 111 hectares (4 sites) were in West Lothian and 75 hectares (37 sites) were in Fife. There were 385 hectares (229 sites) of newly identified urban vacant land since the previous survey. Of these, 58 hectares (4 sites) were in Aberdeen and 53 hectares were in both Fife and Edinburgh (each with 24 newly identified sites). Note that these figures relate only to completely new sites identified; sites listed in the previous survey, which increased in size, are not included in Table 22. This increase accounts for approximately 71 additional hectares of land.
