4. The Use of Live Fish as Bait
Problems can arise when native fish are transferred
between waters within Scotland. This may be as a result of
the accidental or deliberate release of live fish used for
bait. We have no legislation at present to regulate this,
but it is clear that appropriate measures should be
introduced as early as possible.
Professor Peter Maitland, from the Fish Conservation
Centre will present the Steering Group's views on this
issue.
