Acknowledgements

I would like to express sincere and grateful thanks to a number of people who have assisted in the production of this report.

A number of colleagues at MORI and TNS have taken time to read drafts of the report and to discuss issues that came up in the course of undertaking analysis. Particular thanks are due to Simon Braunholtz, Andrew Zelin, Brian Gosschalk and Roger Mortimore. I would also like to thank Patten Smith of BMRB for pointing out errors before they got into print and for helping to develop the approach to estimating e.

The calibration exercise was overseen by a technical group and I would like to thank all members of the technical group for the very insightful and challenging comments on the first draft of the report.

Special thanks go to Korin Lebov who had the unenviable task of managing both the telephone survey and the face-to-face exercise, as well as ensuring effective co-operation and liaison between the survey teams at MORI/ TNS and BMRB.

As is always the case, while the production of this report has drawn on the considerable skills of a number organisations and individuals, the author has sole responsibility for any errors and omissions.
