3. New hydro-electric schemes of 1 megawatt capacity or less
Bolfracks Estate
3.1 The Committee noted this scheme at its June meeting and sent a copy of its guidance document to the developer, Urlar Hydro. The proposed scheme is between Kenmore and Aberfeldy, Perthshire.
Carnoch
3.2 RWE Npower sent the Committee a copy of the scoping report for this proposed scheme near Strontian, (Inverness-shire). The Committee had no comments to make and provided the developer with a copy of its guidance document.
Cluanie Lodge
3.3 Dulas Ltd, on behalf of the developer, submitted preliminary proposals for a 50 kW private hydro-scheme to meet the needs of the Lodge, situated west of Invermoriston, Inverness-shire. The Committee gave some advice in relation to screening.
Invervar
3.4 In June, the Committee noted that this scheme on the Invervar Burn, River Lyon (Perthshire) had been downgraded to less than 1 MW. Guidance was issued to the developer, RWE Npower, about the collection and presentation of data on fish and fisheries.
River Ayr3.5 In February, the Committee's attention was drawn to this proposed scheme. The scheme is located at Catrine Dam, Catrine, East Ayrshire. The site is owned by the Catrine Voes Trust.
