Rowena Arshad, Director, Centre for Education for Racial Equality
Steven Bermingham, Programme Co-ordinator, Youth Inclusion
Dr Patricia Jackson, Consultant Paediatrician, Community Child Health, NHS Lothian
Shirley Young, Project Manager, Special Needs Information Point
Veronica Rankin, National Officer, Educational Institute for Scotland
Bryan Kirkaldy, Senior Manager - Education, Fife Council
Julie-Ann Jamieson, Head of Children and Young People, Careers Scotland
Jane Hook, Scottish Pre-School Play Association
Caroline Selkirk, Assistant Director, NHS Tayside
Sheena Swinhoe, Integrated Services Manager, Aberdeenshire Council

Thanks are due to the Development Officers who worked on the code:
Mark Beattie, Principal Teacher, Richmond Park School
Maureen Mathieson, Deputy Head Teacher, Glencryan School
Noreen Phillips, Senior Educational Psychologist, North Lanarkshire Council
Morag Dorward, Speech and Language Therapy Manager, NHS Tayside
Jimmy Hawthorn, former Acting Head of Children and Families and Criminal Justice, Scottish Borders Council
Alex Hunter, Research and Development Officer, Children's Services, Aberdeen City Council

Many people commented on the code. There are too many individuals to mention them all by name, but special thanks are due to Cameron Munro, Senior Solicitor (Education), Glasgow City Council, who raised a number of interesting legal issues and was very supportive throughout the development of the code. Stuart Aitken and Joyce Wilson of Sense Scotland and Ewan Malcolm of the Scottish Mediation Network contributed extensive comments on the code, in particular the sections on families and authorities working together, and mediation.

Morag Gunion, Kate Hannah and David Watt from Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education provided valuable comments on the various drafts of the code.

Children in Scotland provided invaluable support during the consultation exercise on the draft code for which Eddie Follan and Shelley Gray pulled together a team of able and willing facilitators.

The Executive welcomed the helpful comments from the Scottish Parliament's Education Committee on the code.

Finally, thanks are due to members of the Scottish Executive's Additional Support Needs Division, and legal and policy colleagues from across the Executive.
