The Scottish Executive is grateful to the very many
people and organisations who helped develop the code of

Many people commented on the code. There are too many
individuals to mention them all by name, but special thanks
are due to Cameron Munro, Senior Solicitor (Education),
Glasgow City Council, who raised a number of interesting
legal issues and was very supportive throughout the
development of the code. Stuart Aitken and Joyce Wilson of
Sense Scotland and Ewan Malcolm of the Scottish Mediation
Network contributed extensive comments on the code, in
particular the sections on families and authorities working
together, and mediation.
Morag Gunion, Kate Hannah and David Watt from Her
Majesty's Inspectorate of Education provided valuable
comments on the various drafts of the code.
Children in Scotland provided invaluable support during
the consultation exercise on the draft code for which Eddie
Follan and Shelley Gray pulled together a team of able and
willing facilitators.
The Executive welcomed the helpful comments from the
Scottish Parliament's Education Committee on the code.
Finally, thanks are due to members of the Scottish
Executive's Additional Support Needs Division, and legal
and policy colleagues from across the Executive.
