SFFF SG 8-1: Access
Several issues related to access have arisen during
discussions of the Steering Group. These include:
- The repeal/amendment of the Freshwater and Salmon
Fisheries (Scotland) Act 1976 - now provisions
contained principally in sections 30, 48-51, and 66 of
the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries (Consolidation)
(Scotland) Act 2003, and provisions in Schedule 3 to
that Act;
- Inclusion of commercial put-and-take fisheries and
club waters where full access is already afforded;
- Resolution of conflicts between different angling
sectors who wish to access the same resource at the
same time;
Section 1: If it was decided to retain but
amend the PO system, the following are the issues which
might be addressed.
Section 2: Commercial fisheries and club
waters allowing full access.
Section 3: Resolution of conflicts between
different angling sectors wishing to access the same
resource at the same time.
Section 4: Alternatives to the system of
Protection Order Areas.
