Making your Response
We are inviting written responses to this consultation
paper by 9 September 2005. Earlier responses would be very
welcome.
To help you make a response we have prepared an
electronic Consultation Response Form which is available at
http://www.scotland.gov.uk/consultations
We have also provided a paper response form. Please
answer any or all the questions as you wish. It would help
us greatly if you could use these forms, and indicate at
all times which questions you are responding to, as this
will aid our analysis of the responses received.
Please send your comments, by
9 September 2005:
by e-mail to:pfla@scotland.gsi.gov.uk
in writing to:

The Scottish Executive intends to follow its normal
practice of making copies of responses received available
to the public in the Scottish Executive Library at Saughton
House, Broomhouse Drive,
Edinburgh (tel 0131 244 4552) by 7 October
2005.
If respondents indicate that they wish all, or part, of
their reply excluded from this arrangement, confidentiality
will be respected. All responses not marked confidential
will be checked for any potentially defamatory material
before being placed in the Scottish Executive library. To
assist us in handling your response appropriately, it is
important that you provide the information requested either
by using the electronic Consultation Response Form or the
Respondee Information Form. If you are responding on behalf
of an organisation, please make that explicit and specify
your position within the organisation.
All respondents should be aware that the Scottish

consider any request made to it under the act for
information relating to responses made to this consultation
exercise.
A summary of the consultation responses will be produced
and will be available on the Scottish Executive website
www.scotland.gov.uk
as soon as practicable.
