1 The signed news bulletins on daily television
seem to have stopped in Scotland - Deaf respondents did not
seem to know why. This contrasts markedly with English
regions where for example, in Bristol, there are two daily
news bulletins on local channels and a weekly signed local
magazine programme.
2 This refers to tracing the shape of the
letters in the air or on the hand. This is a very old
strategy and one which is seldom used by the Deaf
community.
