National Programme for Improving Mental Health and Well-Being: annual review 2003-2004
National Programme Structure
Since its launch in October 2001, the National Programme for Improving Mental Health and Well-Being has been working nationally and locally to support action in mental health improvement and public mental health. Its work forms a vital part of the Scottish Executive's aims of improving health and achieving social justice in Scotland.
This annual review sets out progress so far in taking forward the key aims and priorities for action.
The diagram below illustrates how the work of the National Programme is structured within the context of Scottish policies on health improvement, social justice and social inclusion, education and young people, enterprise and life-long learning and equalities.
The National Programme's four key aims and six priority areas are also identified, together with supporting activities undertaken by the National Programme.
The vision is to help improve positive mental health for everyone in Scotland and the quality of life for people with mental health problems.
