Appendix G: The pupil questionnaire
The questionnaire reproduced below is the version used at P7. The S2 questionnaire took the same form, but references to environmental studies were replaced by references to one or other of history, geography, modern studies or social subjects.

QUESTIONNAIRE FOR PUPILS IN P7: ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
Your school agreed to participate in this year's national survey of Environmental Studies Enquiry Skills. As part of the survey you recently took two written tests. Thank you for helping us in this way.
Now that the testing part of the survey is over, we hope that you will be able to help us again, this time by filling in a short questionnaire. The questionnaire has been designed to give information about how P7 pupils in Scotland spend their leisure time, what learning activities you take part in both in school and outside, how your time in lessons is spent, and what you think about Environmental Studies.
Your own personal answers to the questionnaire will be known only to the survey team and will be confidential. You will not be named in the survey report when the findings are published.
However, your answers to the questionnaire will be very important as part of all the answers to the survey, and we thank you very much for your extra help.
