Strategic direction to the Enterprise Networks and an enterprise strategy for Scotland

making it happen

The Enterprise Networks set out in their Corporate Plans how they will pursue the strategic direction contained in SSS. Some of the specific actions taken by the Executive and the Networks since publication of the original SSS are shown below:

Progress in creating a smart, successful Scotland needs to be reviewed to ensure we are on the right track and to assess the impact of particular actions. The Joint Performance Team (JPT) ensures rigorous reviews of economic performance and publishes data in Measuring Scotland's progress towards A Smart, Successful Scotland. These reports assess economic performance relative to OECD countries across a range of indicators relating to the priorities in SSS. Evaluation evidence is used to assess the impact of Enterprise Network outputs on economic progress measures. Progress against these high level measures requires consistent effort in line with the medium term approach set out in SSS. This measuring and evaluation approach will continue to ensure that the strategic direction in SSS is translated into appropriate and effective action in the long term interests of growing Scotland's economy in a sustainable way.
