We are pleased to say that no errors have been found in the statistics that were published in the previous edition.
As mentioned in the Introduction, the statistics given here for 2001 and earlier years may differ slightly from the previously published figures for those years, due to (e.g.) Police Forces submitting late returns, and revisions to returns which had been made earlier. However, such changes are not regarded as "corrections" to "errors" in the previous edition, because the tables and charts in the previous edition had been prepared correctly from the underlying data as they stood at that time.
