NOTES TO NEWS EDITORS
- These figures represent a snapshot of schools as at School Census week (i.e. week commencing 9 September 2002). Equivalent data on the main difficulty of learning is not available. Data for the September 2003 school census, including a breakdown by main difficulty of learning, is due to be published in April 2004.
- Results on a wider range of school statistics from the September 2002 School Census were published in August 2003. There were uncertainties about the number of pupils who had a Record of Needs, so local authorities were asked to reconfirm their data. In a few local authorities, the 2001 figures have also been revised.
