This guide is based on a guide originally produced by Vikki Entwistle and Maire O'Donnell at the Health Services Research Centre at Aberdeen University in 1999. It was updated in 2003 by the Scottish Executive Health Department as one initiative to support the improvement in the quality of information provision by NHSScotland.
