Notes: 2001-02 data on assessments and household type not included due to outstanding HL1 returns from the previous paper-based data collection system. This will be updated once the dataset has been finalised. Data prior to December 2001 may be estimated: refer to section 5.

1. Percentages for 2002-03 data are based on applications made during period, including lost contact/withdrawal/resolved prior to assessment and cases which have not been assessed yet. For applications made in 2002-03, there were 2,216 cases of single person households which had not been assessed.
