THE GRAIN LEGUMES SCHEME (GLS)
The Grain Legumes Scheme (GLS) is a voluntary scheme,
which offers area payments to growers of chick peas,
lentils and vetches harvested as dry seeds. Its aim is to
encourage their continued production in the European Union
(EU), as this is seen to be in the EU's economic
interest
