Assumptions
Average time spent on daytime meeting or visit to party or neighbours (ex. travel) is one hour, though in some cases longer.
Out of hours calls always two officers and paid at time x 1.5; thus hours spent on call x 3
Average time spent on letter or phone call 10 minutes.
Average mileage costs 45 pence.
Average staff hourly rate 20 (applies to HIT staff and also other officers - social work, housing, legal, police).
Administration of case (to open, close, report, record and discuss the case) requires ten percent of the casework hours.
Other officers' costs is based on 1.5 hours per meeting inc. travel.
Length is time as HIT case.
Solicitors time as charged to housing 50/hour. Secretarial hours at ratio of 1 to 4 of solicitors', and charged at 15/hour.
Legal fees are court fees of 50 plus average Sheriffs Officer fees of 30.
