Evaluation of National Care Standards Consultation Process Contractor: In-house Due Date: August 2003 Contact: Fiona Hodgkiss [0131 244 3787] An evaluation of the consultative processes used by the Social Work Services Inspectorate in 1999-2001 to develop the National Care Standards. Looks at what attempts were made to encourage service users, carers and ethnic minority groups to take an active part in the process. The work will inform the development of SE consultation policy and will be of interest to agencies engaging with these groups in the future. Involving Older People: Lessons for Community Planning

A qualitative mapping exercise to provide baseline information on the involvement of older people at a local level, to provide a benchmark and highlight good practice. Will identify how Community Planning Partnerships ensure that older people in Scotland have the opportunity to contribute to and participate in the development and delivery of public services and community planning processes.
Evaluation of Draft Guidance for Involving and Engaging the Public in Developing Health and Community Care Policies

Gathering the views of a range of SE staff and external stakeholders on draft guidance to involve and engage people in the development of health and community care policies, and piloting the guidance in a number of case studies.

The findings were used to develop the final proposals for school meals provision.
