Partnership Commitments 2003-2007
- We will
reform the courts and legal system to
deal with cases more efficiently. We will continue to
modernise the law and legal system to protect
individual rights.
- A Bill will be introduced before the end of June
2003 to improve the way that
vulnerable witnesses are treated by
the justice system and assist them to give their best
evidence.
- The Executive will also bring forward by mid 2004
legislation to modernise the laws of
Personal bankruptcy and diligence to
strike a better balance between supporting business
risk and protecting the rights of creditors.
- We will
establish a Scottish Human Rights
Commission.
- We will legislate to
reform family law for all of
Scotland's people.
- We will continue to
modernise legal aid.
