AVAILABILITY OF SERVICES IN RURAL SCOTLAND

COMMUNITY INTERNET FACILITIES

Community Internet Facilities are vital for those who cannot afford a personal computer or Internet access at home or do not have access to the Internet at work. In rural areas, 'remote' access to services provided through the Internet is increasingly seen as a way forward to meet the service needs of small and isolated rural communities. Services provided by the Internet can include home delivery shopping, accessing information as well as personally tailored advice, and e-mail services.
