A REVIEW OF THE FIRST YEAR OF THE MANDATORY LICENSING OF HOUSES IN MULTIPLE OCCUPATION IN SCOTLAND

ANNEX FOUR POSSIBLE AMENDMENT TO THE LICENSING APPROVAL TIMESCALE

The amended timescale allows local authorities 2 years for the approval of applications for 4 person HMOs and 2 years for the approval of three person HMOs. The submission period for three person HMO licence applications would be spread over 2 years. This extended timescale would also allow more time for officers to address licence evaders and deal with renewals
